Tad M. Ballantyne – Chairman
Over the last two decades, Ballantyne has been active in acquiring and operating troubled companies or assets being divested by public and private companies. More recently, he has focused on food plants in the U.S. and Asia. Ballantyne holds a BS in business management from the University of Wisconsin.
Gil Peter - Director
Gil Peter has been Director of Capsalus Corp. since April 2010. Mr. Peter’s focus has been on developing companies from early stage to acquisition or public offering. Mr. Peter has successfully launched companies in many sectors, including Internet, Business Services, Real Estate Communications, Software, Sports Apparel, Entertainment, Health Consulting. Mr. Peter’s current ventures center around health and wellness. In addition to his leadership role with Capsalus, he is a partner in a successful high-end walk-in center in northern New Jersey. With Capsalus, he has been instrumental in the acquisitions of Guava Healthcare and Genewize Life Sciences, as well as in the investment in Wish Upon A Hero. Mr. Peter has many personal relationships with investment banks including Merrill Lynch, Morgan Stanley, UBS, CIBC Oppenheimer, Barclays Bank and Goldman Sachs, as well as with various venture firms and a vast array of private investors. Mr. Peter currently sits on the board of Worldsync, Inc. He is also actively involved in many charities and is a past board member of the Children’s Cancer Center in Tampa as well as the Mellanby Autism Foundation. Mr. Peter and his family currently reside in Parkland, Florida.
Steven M. Grubner – Interim Chief Executive Officer, President & Chief Operating Officer
Steven M. Grubner has been president and chief operating officer of Capsalus Corp. since January 2009. With more than 20 years experience in the technology industry, Grubner previously was chief financial officer and principal accounting officer of TapSlide, Inc. (also known as Almadoro Minerals Corp.), and president of NVO Solutions, Inc. He also served as president of finance and administration and chief financial officer of HH Communications, Inc and as vice president and general counsel at Datatec, a position that led to his becoming director of GeneThera Inc.'s public SEC filings, vendor contract negotiations and internal employee agreements, as well as its chief financial officer and principal accounting officer. For more than a decade, Grubner has been in the private and public equity markets, raising capital for technology, biotech and software companies. Grubner received a BA in economics from the University of Michigan and a JD from the John Marshall Law School.
Chris Olivier – Chief Marketing Officer
Chris Olivier became chief marketing officer in 2011 after joining the company as vice president of marketing in 2010, when the company acquired White Hat Brands, LLC, where he served in the same capacity. Olivier was responsible for White Hat’s corporate and product marketing efforts, most notably the introduction and management of its’ award-winning line of fortified, low-calorie beverages for kids eight to 12 sold in partnership with the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation in top-tier grocery chains throughout the northeastern U.S. Prior to White Hat, Olivier headed up brand management for In Zone Brands' children's beverage business, overseeing the strategic planning, marketing and global licensing for the BellyWashers and TummyTickler juice brands sold nationally through mass and convenience retail, as well as through major distributors internationally. In addition, he co-founded and directed marketing and product development for Kids Corral, a privately-held children's products venture based in New York City, vetting, licensing and commercializing the best in parent-entrepreneurs ideas for the infant/pre-school market. Before consumer products, Olivier spent a number of years in marketing and business development capacities in media and technology with such multinational corporations as Mediacom, Macromedia (Adobe) and Anderson Consulting (Accenture). In addition to his leadership role with Capsalus, Olivier sits on the board of Take Aim At Cancer, a non-profit focused on raising funds and awareness for targeted cancer therapy in partnership with MD Anderson. He holds a BA in international relations from Colgate University.
Jonathan Mayer – President, White Hat Brands
Jonathan Mayer became president of White Hat Brands for Capsalus Corp. in July 2011 and is responsible for expanding the Capsalus business to the all-natural household consumer products sector, drawing on his extensive experience in this area. Prior to joining the company, Mayer was the founder and CEO of Oxford & Hill Home Products, a leading manufacturer of environmentally-friendly household storage items uniquely formulated to enhance consumer health, safety and convenience, sold nationwide through leading retail accounts including Wal-Mart, Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, CVS, and Kroger. Previously, he served as president and VP of sales for Cedar Fresh Home Products. Mayer has also held general management positions in major corporations including Perry Ellis International and Burson-Marsteller. Mayer, who holds an MBA from the University of Pennsylvania – The Wharton School, currently serves on the board of athletic sportswear manufacturer T3K Incorporated and has recently served as visiting instructor at the Florida International University Business School among other Miami-based community leadership activities.
